Attenuation of hemodynamic pressor response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation by intravenous fentanyl in elective surgery under general anesthesia: A randomized controlled trial using three different doses

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation elicit hemodynamic pressor responses which may be hazardous in high risk patients. Fentanyl, a low cost synthetic opioid, when used judiciously, good option to attenuate this stress response. Aims Objectives: The present study has been conducted compare the efficacy of three different doses intravenous fentanyl attenuation response elective surgery under general anesthesia. Materials Methods: It was double-blinded randomized controlled trial. A total 90 patients American Society Anesthesiologists physical status I II, 55 male 35 female, aged between 20 years, were into groups receiving 2, 3, 4 μg/kg injection fentanyl, respectively, administered intravenously 5 min before direct intubation. Results: There significant differences variables among all at 1, 5, 10 after Just intubation; heart rate, mean arterial pressure, diastolic pressure – these showed significance 3 only. Incidence nausea/vomiting statistical 2 Conclusion: In our trial, intubation, superior suppressing associated with it. Further, larger trials are needed confirm findings.

مقایسه گاباپنتین، پرگابالین و دارونما به‌عنوان پیش‌دارو در کاهش پاسخ همودینامیک به لارنگوسکوپی و لوله‌گذاری داخل نای

Background: Tracheal intubation and direct laryngoscopy are powerful noxious stimuli that can elicit sever hemodynamic responses. These hemodynamic responses should be attenuated by appropriate use of premedication, smooth induction of anesthesia and rapid tracheal intubation. Gabapentin and pregabalin have been suggested in several studies to be efficient. Gabapentin is an antiepileptic drug a...

Comparison of Dexmedetomidine with Fentanyl in Attenuation of Pressor Response during Laryngoscopy and Intubation

INTRODUCTION The pressure response, which is part of a huge spectrum of stress response, results from the increase in sympathetic and sympathoadrenalactivity.Acomparision between dexmeditomedine and fentanyl in suppressing the pressorresponse is studied. OBJECTIVE This study was done to compare the effectiveness of Dexmedetomidine with Fentenyl in attenuating the pressor responses associated wi...

Clinical Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of three Different Doses of Fentanyl to Prevent Hemodynamic Stress Response During Laryngoscopy and Intubation: A Randomized Double Blind Clinical Study

Background: Hemodynamic stress response to laryngoscopy and intubation produces a significant hemodynamic alteration that may adversely affect patients with cardiac and neurological diseases. Fentanyl before induction attenuates hemodynamic stress response. We compared three different doses of fentanyl so as to find the most appropriate dose which prevents the response without adverse consequen...

Attenuation of Hemodynamic Responses to Laryngoscopy and Tracheal Intubation: Propacetamol versus Lidocaine—A Randomized Clinical Trial

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of propacetamol on attenuating hemodynamic responses subsequent laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation compared to lidocaine. In this randomized clinical trial, 62 patients with the American Anesthesiologists Society (ASA) class I/II who required laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation for elective surgery were assigned to receive propacetamol 2 g/I...
